India to publish traditional medicine

In a move meant to combat the growing trend of ‘biopiracy’ (companies or countries patenting organisms or techniques which originated elsewhere), India will be releasing an encyclopedia of traditional ayurvedic, unani, and siddha medicine next year.
The project, dubbed Traditional Knowledge Digital Library, is meant to showcase and protect India’s cultural heritage.

EU Questions CIA’s Activity in Europe

European lawmakers want to find out what is going on with CIA “torture planes” flying through their airspace and landing in some European nations.

The planes use airstrips in Europe as the flights transfer people to “secret” CIA bases. Interest in America’s activities involving the planes, bases, and torturing is on the rise among Europeans. It’s good to see that the Europeans want to find out what is really going on.

Why dont you tell someone to Flick Off!

Ever wondered what the current status of electricity in Ontario is right now? Its common knowledge that electricity is in short supply and conservation and managing demand are key to ensuring a reliable and inexpensive supply of electricity. But, to the public where, when, how, and why are questions that someone needs direct answers to, including me, in real time.

Although I can check on the IESO’s website to see what the projected electricity status is, this takes time and many people don’t have the time to check this website 2-5 times a day. Organizing this confusing mess is the Flick Off project that emails or text messages members who sign up with fun and unique messages on how and when to conserve electricity. Sign up and learn about energy and conservation while gaining information on the status of the electricity industry. Electricity prices rose to $2 per KWH this summer in Ontario while you pay 5 cents, the difference is covered by the tax payer.

Netmetering is coming to Ontario, so you might be paying the real market price soon. I’ve already told eveyone I know to Flick Off!

Black Box Voting tests Diebold Machines

Black Box Voting, the activist group who trained a chimpanzee to crack the Diebold voting machines back in 2004, have been hired by the libertarian party and the Secretary of State for California to test the very same voting machines.

The Diebold company became infamous in 2004 when they’re head, ‘Wally’ O’Dell was quoted saying he was “committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year.”

Peace in Nepal May Come Sooner

Rebel fighters in Nepal say that they are willing to lay down their arms if the government respects their demands. The Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist has been fighting the government for many years now (with civilians suffering from the violence) and it looked as if the fighting wouldn’t stop.

The demand that the Communists want is the ability to rejoin the political mainstream through official party status in the Nepal. They believe that, once combine, with the other political parties they can then overthrow the monarchy – the primary goal of the CPN-M.
