After an initial decline in yields during the first few years of transition, Rodale Institute claims the organic system soon rebounded to match or surpass the conventional system. Over time, FST became a comparison between the long term potential of the two systems.

I would view such a study with skepticism. Rodale Institute is not an unbiased entity – in fact they are entirely dedicated to advancing organic farming.

I really agree with the study myself. Organic is Sustainable whereas Large corporation farms tend to need more investment as the land needs to be replenished.
