Weed Helps You Think

Is this good weed?Marijuana doesn’t only get you high, it may also help to re-grow brain cells. A Canadian researcher has proposed this.

“In mammals, new nerve cells are constantly being produced in a part of the brain called the hippocampus, which is associated with learning, memory, anxiety and depression. Other recreational drugs, such as alcohol, nicotine and cocaine, have been shown to suppress this new growth. Xia Zhang of the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada, and colleagues decided to see what effects a synthetic cannabinoid called HU210 had on rats’ brains”

An increase in HU210 results in more nerve cell growth. Maybe this shows that smart societies are the ones that allow recreational enjoyment of marijuana.

  1. It’s important to remember that this study dealt with a synthetic and ultra-potent form of a cannabinoid chemical called HU210, and not with marijuana itself.

In other words, Don’t blaze an ounce before your exam thinking it will help you remember, because it wont!

  2. I think its interesting how depending on who is performing the study the results and information varies. Some studies show marijuana to be non harmful, some show it to be carcinogenic like cigarettes and others claim that it is addictive and encourages mental illness. I think that results vary due to the key points that the scientists are trying to pronounce as well as in the individual person. Marijuana makes me all paranoid and jittery but can make others relaxed and easygoing. All brain chemistry is sightly different and so are many peoples reactions to substances. Then when you synthesize things and put them in rats????? I mean thats just different entirely!
Well maybe rats just really like getting high……………..or maybe they have superpowers that are only brought out my synthetic canbinoids!!!!
Either way I do believe that smart societies would not discourage the use of marijuana or of hemp, for its myriad of uses, because it definatly isn’t hurting anyone on a large scale. Especially when you compare it to the harmful effects of alcohol (the legal-happy-non-drug-drug).
